Politics

I've decided to step away from my social media for awhile. Sadly, there's a lot of back and forth and not enough healthy dialogue and conversations to enlighten one another. I feel like more than ever I have to speak through my photography.

I wasn't sure if I was going to post this because it's so personal to me but I feel like now is the best time to spread positive vibes.

According to Native American culture as well as Buddhism, Christianity and many other beliefs rainbows are a significant symbol of enlightenment, clarity, hope and love. When I was at Pulse Memorial a couple of weeks ago and I saw this mantra I said right away I wanted it as my first tattoo. It had nothing to do with sexuality and everything to do with being human.

Part of being human is to love and accept. This election has been a wake up call for many of us. We are learning who our friends, even our families are and unfortunately losing them during this time. Boggles my mind! Though we may not agree on everything- The one thing we have the power to do is accept one another. Even if our opinions are not the same.

So before you respond to a post that is the opposite of what you believe in. Read it again, process it, sleep on it if you have to. Make sure that your voice is in a tone of open dialogue. Otherwise, silence is always a good idea.

Not sure when I'll be back in this vortex called the Internet but for right now I'm going to focus on myself, my business, my friends and family. Being involved more in my community, being involved in protests for minorities and women's rights, and being the artistic voice for our generation.

Remember, #LOVEMORE #HATELESS 💜
